to Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use Moore Airmanship?

We spend all our time focusing on gaining insight from resources across aviation and related fields like industry trends, best practices, lessons learned from accidents, and human factors research. Then we extract the most practical aspects so we can transfer that knowledge to you in highly engaging events that respect your busy schedule.  We’ve been doing so with great success for nearly two decades for a wide range of unforgiving aviation operations. Give us a try, you won’t be disappointed!

What's the process for booking an event?

In just a few phone calls or emails, we’ll work together to make sure we have the details right and a clear understanding of your desired learning outcome. You can pick a ready-made course or collaborate on a custom event (at no additional cost) that blends modules from our entire catalog. We may ask for additional background information about you, your organization/audience, aircraft type(s), flight profiles, etc. just to make sure we hit the mark. But that’s it!

Can you customize training to fit the time I have or topic I want to emphasize?

Absolutely! We specialize in working with clients to create custom seminars that cover whatever topics you need. If you don’t see what you’re looking for in our catalog, just reach out. There is no additional cost for booking an à la carte style event. The only exception is for specific Lessons Learned Analysis of accidents or incidents we haven’t already created. This is due to the extensive time it takes to perform the comprehensive background work that goes into delivering a high quality case study.

How far in advance can I book an event?

The farther out, the better. We can book up quickly and work on a first-come, first-served basis. You don’t need to have all the details. Just the date, location, and overall length of the event. Short notice events (scheduled for 14 days or less from the initial request) are always welcome but are harder to accommodate.

What do I need to provide?

The host is required to provide:

o Point of contact for coordination leading up to the event

o Point of contact on-site for the event, if not the coordinator

o Facility capable of comfortably supporting the size of your audience

o IT capable of displaying PowerPoint with embedded video/audio

(large audiences or certain venues may require a sound system)

o Roster of planned attendees for certificates

(not necessary for guest speaking)

How much do events in the United States cost?

Full Day or Less

$5,750

Multiple Days

$5,000/day

Assessments

$13,500 - 3 days

$19,000 - 5 days

Inflight Training

$10,750

3 days, < 10 flight hours

Is there a deposit required?

We generally don’t require a deposit unless Moore Airmanship incurs a cost outside of what is typical for airfare, lodging, or a rental car.

Is there a minimum/maximum size for attendance?

No. We’re happy to work with anyone from a single individual to an entire flight department and all the way through very large groups.

Is it possible to do multiple sessions of the same content to support my workforce's schedule?

Yes, we can accommodate multiple iterations over the total number of days we’re hired to present.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand that even the best laid plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible. Any pre-payment collected (aside from non-refundable security deposits if applicable) will be refunded or credited to the new date. Rescheduling is subject to Moore Airmanship’s availably on the future requested date.

Both cancellations and rescheduling that occur after travel to your location has started are subject to a minimum $750 fee that cannot be credited to future events.

What if Moore Airmanship needs to cancel or reschedule?

In the unlikely event Moore Airmanship needs to cancel or reschedule, we will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible. Any pre-payment collected will be refunded or credited to the new date. You will be given priority scheduling for the future date and provided with a discount.

Can you provide a Lessons Learned Analysis for an accident/incident I pick?

Absolutely. While we’re happy to provide insight into any accident or incident, we highly recommend one that has a final public report with a public docket to ensure we have as much information as possible to give you the very best analysis. We also encourage companies and organizations to review internal “near-misses” to help prevent them from becoming actual accidents.

Due to the extensive time it takes to perform the comprehensive background work that goes into delivering a high quality case study, a fee may be required for specific Lessons Learned Analysis presentations.

Can I record a training event/presentation?

Recording of a training program, in whole or in part, by any means (audio, video, photograph, etc.) is prohibited. Certain guest speaking engagements may be recorded with pre-approval by Moore Airmanship.

What type of flight training do you offer?

Moore Airmanship’s flight training specifically complements our ground training. To qualify, you must have already attended a program. You can add this option on to immediately follow the ground training (for a discount) or book it any time after the ground training program has been completed.

Example: A Severe Weather Operations & Analysis graduate can use this option to actually plan and carry out flights in collaboration with Moore Airmanship to apply the classroom academics to their aircraft in the real-world and be given real-time and post flight feedback.

You must provide the aircraft and will act as Pilot in Command (PIC) during the entire flight portion.

How do safety & training culture assessments work?

Assessments are highly collaborative efforts designed to provide you with candid, practical feedback about the state of your organization. We review your organization’s safety program (e.g., policy, assurance, risk management, promotion). We survey your workforce (pilots, dispatchers, maintenance, management, etc.) to uncover attitudes and norms. We will look at how pilots are being trained, upgraded, and evaluated and what impact your SOPs are having on operations. Ultimately we provide observations and recommendations highlighting strengths, weakness, and opportunities for improvement.

Do I need to have a certain FAA Pilot Certificate (CFI, ATP, AMEL, etc.)?

No. Our training can benefit everyone no matter where they are on their aviation journey. We will also work with you to figure out how best to deliver the training to pilots with different experiences and qualifications.

Is this all just for pilots?

No. Dispatchers, non-pilot companions & family members, non-pilots in leadership and management roles of aviation organizations, engineers/manufacturers, aviation and human factors researchers, and aviation meteorologists are just a few of the groups that can and have benefited from our insights and perspective.
